The FCE Group has steadily evolved since its humble beginnings as Fife Contract Engineers, established in 1988 as a machine shop.
Today we sell our process machinery all over the world, in particular our Hogan Vibratory Bin Dischargers, our Taylor Stiles Dicers and our FCE Trailer Supports. Acquisitions of design and manufacturing capability from Taylor Stiles and James Bertram Engineering has allowed FCE Hydraulics Ltd to expand our range of products into pulp, hemp and paper reel splitting, paper ‘side run’ splitters, wire winders, conveyors, dicers, granulators, machine feed systems, process layouts and design, and diversification over recent years has seen our engineers develop products for linoleum, plastics and ceramics manufacture.
With FCE Hydraulics Ltd and FCE Remik Ltd all under one roof – we are in great shape to meet our customers’ exacting needs as a one stop shop.
FCE Hydraulics Ltd has capability to perform a wide range of mechanical engineering design, maintenance and fabrication. Our team of mechanical maintenance fitters, welders and hydraulic and pneumatic specialists are available for site work, providing additional maintenance and shutdown manpower to our clients’ requirements, as well as their regular in-house works.
FCE Hydraulics engineers have specialist knowledge in making and maintaining specialist machinery for the whisky and cooperage industry. We manufacture and install barrel hoop drivers, cask strippers, bung hole borers, bung makers, bung cutting tools. We even manufacture oak bungs from recycled staves in-house on our self-produced machine. We make a range of barrel handling equipment from bung-up belts to tools to rescue ‘torpedoed’ casks.
Our Hydraulics workshop boasts a wide experience in Hydraulic Engineering. Supplying a broad spectrum of industry in Scotland and Northern England - from process manufacturing, agricultural, forestry and public service sectors, this section was founded to deliver specialist solutions to hydraulic and pneumatic power users.
We offer a complete turnkey solution - encompassing repair, manufacture and test facilities. Our in-house design and manufacture of Hydraulic Power Packs and Cylinders ensures we have the skills and resources to serve you!
Specialties include counter service for local industries with a comprehensive stock of hose and fittings. We also carry an impressive range of metric and imperial barrel and chrome rod stock for ram manufacturer to the highest standards.
FCE Remik Ltd is our precision engineering machine shop which has ISO 9001 Quality Management certification. We have a wide range of CNC and manual lathes and milling machines which enable us to respond to our customers’ needs with the right tool for the job.
We offer quick turnaround shaft and roller repairs to get your plant back up and running as well as pump and valve repair, which often proves to be more economical than replacement, especially during breakdowns.
Working hand-in-hand with FCE Hydraulics Ltd allows the machine shop to offer complete project delivery with a precision finish. From machined components, complete shaft and roller assemblies, high tolerance machine plinths, or whatever our clients need – our design and project management team are there to assist.
Taylor Stiles
'FCE Materials Handling' - Incorporating Taylor Stiles (UK) have been suppliers to the Process Industry worldwide for over 35 years. Originally specialising in material reduction systems in the U.S.A they developed an impressive range of machinery which has seen a resurgence due to their robust design and low maintenance philosophy.
Some original equipment has been in daily production for over 40 years. Present day process involvement includes pulp, hemp and paper reel splitting, paper ‘side run’ splitters, wire winders, conveyors, dicers, granulators, FCE Group - Incorporating Taylor Stiles (UK)
Lothian Projects
Group member - 'Lothian Projects 2000 Ltd' were originally formed after the demise of "James Bertram", Leith Walk, Edinburgh who were one of the world's premier manufacturers of Paper Making Machines and associated equipment.
We retain the company's original drawings as well as some experience, which currently design and manufacture turnkey solutions for Paper Manufacture and Process Design.
Present day issues include machine feed systems, process layouts and design, although diversification over recent years has seen our engineers develop products for linoleum, plastics and ceramics manufacture.
